so it's been over three years since i last thought it necessary to write something here...not much has changed insomuch as the novel remains unfinished...

i have good reasons - bike accident, increasing stress of work and those that worked for me, the arrival of the bean, giving up smoking, taking up launching myself downhills on two wheels whilst trying not to cough a lung up on the way back up again, giving up drinking and starting a new job...

all of which have been good, mostly...

the other reason is that i have lost touch with a couple of people that mattered...if they're still here, they know who they are - i hope they are well and things have worked out for them...if they are not, then i wish them all the best, wherever and whoever they may be...

my activity here at da has been of late very limited...i started a new job two weeks ago (promotion) and have been snowed under with work...

in addition to work, a good friend has been absent from my life for sometime now and i am beginning to worry about them...i hope that they are ok...i know things have been very difficult for them lately, but i hope they can get through this...you know who you are - just let me know you are safe and well...

writing is as ever sporadic...perhaps i'll get the fkin book finished sometime before i go grey...

i have stuff to do...most of it with no real importance

barcelona, or more accurately villanova, was fun...sun, blue skies, rioja and even a pack of luckies...i got to read a bit and wander around looking for more shoes and checking out the local food markets...spent afternoons lazily...

been writing some more of the novel for those of you with any interest...i've been spurred on by a few recent events and feel that i owe it to myself and some of those around me to push to finish it...
